Here at PwC, we’ve been on a journey to upskill our own people and we’re excited to share what we've learned. We are ready to help businesses, governments, non-government organisations (NGOs), local communities and individuals accelerate their upskilling journey and create the workforce of tomorrow, today.

Building better skills for society

Building on our work with clients, we are working with other organisations to improve digital skills in communities where the need is the greatest. Still, more must be done to ensure everyone has the opportunity to learn, work and participate in the future digital world. This is at the heart of our purpose.

Collaborating to support communities and youth

The need for new skills goes much further than our own business. We aim to help millions of people around the world improve their understanding, skills and knowledge for the digital world. The transition to net zero will also transform our economies and our societies, and we will need new skills in many different sectors. That’s why we are collaborating with others to tackle the challenge.

  • Collaborating with UNICEF in support of Generation Unlimited to support their mission to help 1.8 billion young people transition from school to work by 2030. Our collaboration includes programmes in South Africa and India. Learn more.
  • Serving as a founding partner of the World Economic Forum’s Reskilling Revolution programme, which aims to catalyse multiple coalitions to provide one billion people with better education, skills and jobs by 2030.
  • Supporting the Global Solutions Initiative’s Young Global Changers (YGCs) programme, which has attracted over 400 young changemakers from 120 countries since 2017. Learn more.

PwC’s collaborations are is just one of the many ways PwC is helping communities upskill and build on the network’s existing community impact programmes that have been focusing on this challenge for many years. Through our people’s volunteering and support, our New world. New skills. community programmes have reached 10 million beneficiaries.

Working together with businesses, governments and institutions

Solutions to the upskilling challenge need to be developed at the local, regional and national level; no one organisation can do this alone. Government leaders and policymakers need to enable citizens to the knowledge and skills to participate and thrive in a future workforce, while also driving the discussion on the future of technology and regulation. Institutions, such as those that make up the education system, need to digitally transform themselves and — at the same time — provide services that are fit for the future.
